ReadWriteWeb has an interesting post about the journal RNA Biology. RNA now requires that all authors of accepted articles must also publish an article summary (which will also have peer review) on Wikipedia. RWW reports that this may be the first time that a scientific journal has required authors to make public their findings outside the closed subscriber base of the journal.
Such an approach using Wikipedia makes the information much more widely available, especially to people who do not have access to the journal or can not afford a subscription. If you are doing research, perhaps you should consider publishing it also on Wikipedia. Isn't that what the Web is all about!
