This new business idea was inspired by my friend Collen and this post on ReadWriteWeb about customization services available on the web. Customized clothing and accessories through websites is a popular service, especially in Europe. Last Sunday's NYT's story about Blank Label, a custom shirt site, crashed the site. I know because I was unable to order shirts when I tried at 1pm.
My friend Colleen is an avid fitness addict, who constantly posts on FB about her newest training regime. Yesterday she posted a picture of a cover from Maxim magazine (See below). Now Colleen is a good looking woman, but I thought she had used Photoshop to put herself on the cover. When I emailed her she told me the woman on the cover was a look a like and not her. Now for the new business idea, inspired by Colleen.
How about a website that produces customized calendars, books and albums where you can easily superimpose your face on a series of Beyonce body shots or pictures of Obama meeting heads of state and add comments, notes or full text. Sort of like the album service for Mac users, but a lot more fun. Key to the service would be setting up the mock photos to match people's interests.
Almost forgot--the Cover. Look a like lower right
