Miami Herald Business Plan Challenge

Every year the Pino Entrepreneurship Center at FIU hosts a business plan competition. This year Pino is joining forces with the Miami Herald to jointly host a business plan competition for South Florida. The website for the competition is here but detailed information will be posted February 15. I will be a judge for the competition.

The three keys to a successful early stage company are:

1. Picking the right market opportunity
2. Using mentoring
3. Capital availability

The business plan competition provides great access to possible mentors and some capital for the winners.
